Hi Everyone!

Happy Spring Everyone!

We've been working hard on this schedule and I believe the end result is well worth the effort! Everyone in the instructor's group is contributing wonderful projects. Mig never fails to deliver the beautiful and unique. Our snowbird Connie Foster has more than a couple of clever new pieces that are sure to delight and most are quite easy to accomplish. Marie Jacques is reprising some old favorites. Sue Daigle is reprising Leather Wrap by popular demand and has a couple of new bracelets to delight. Two friends from farther north, Lori Holt and Johanna Bierwirth will make the trek south to delight us with some old favorites and previews of new things to come. If you've recently discovered Loom Weaving or Peyote Stitch, there are wonderful new worlds to pursue.

Whatever your pleasure, I hope you find something here to delight and tempt you to new beading heights.

Booking early is crucial to assuring that you'll have a seat in the classes of your choice. To make it easier, you'll receive a voucher for 15% off your materials for all classes booked by Saturday, April 2nd!

Can't wait to see you!

Happy Beading,

FREEFORM PEYOTE: SATURDAY, APRIL 2, 10:30, W/MARIE JACQUES, FEE: $25, SKILL LEVEL: : NOVICE (Experience in even count peyote required)

YOU ASKED FOR IT! This class was such a hit last quarter, we've been asked to have it again. Folks who have taken it previously have been having such fun exploring the endless possibilities for combining seed and novelty beads into unique art jewelry! You've marveled at the seemingly random beauty of Freeform Peyote stitch. How do they do it? Stitching seems to branch off every which way with different size beads interjected everywhere? What may seem random usually does have a plan (of sorts). Marie will show you how to jumpstart your creativity. You'll start with a thin band and build from there. Where will your imagination take you? This is just a sample of where your imagination may go. Bring all your odd beads and see how to bring them all together beautifully!

BEADER'S NIGHT OUT: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6, 6-8 P.M., NO FEE

No class, just a time to gather together around the beading table and explore our favorite beading project. Seating is limited so call to reserve your seat.

WIREWORKS: BORDERWRAP: SATURDAY, APRIL 9, 10:30, W/MIG LEMIRE, FEE: $55, SKILL LEVEL: BEGINNER

If you loved the Wire Sculpting class with Mig, you'll love Border Wrap. The second in the WIREWORKS series, this class teaches you how to showcase a cabochon or other flat backed stone by incasing the edges in a neatly bound wire wrap. You'll learn to create exquisite sterling, silver filled or gold filled border wrapped slides and pendants. (They look great in copper, too.) Bring your own stones or pick from our beautiful selections. (This is a standalone class. You do not need to have taken Wire Sculpting to accomplish this technique. This technique will spring board you into many other wire wrapped pieces).

PURPLE WAVE BRACELET: SATURDAY, APRIL 9, 1:00 P.M., W/MIG LEMIRE, FEE: $55, SKILL LEVEL: BEGINNER

Welcome PURPLE WAVES BRACELET. I just love this design. This was so, very popular in January and there were some who couldn't make it in. So, we've been asked to repeat it now! I recently saw a show in Las Vegas called "Le Reve". It was a Cirque de Sole type show with dancing water and lots of color. The wave pattern to this piece immediately put me in mind of that spectacular show. You could do it with graduated colors of Swarovski Crystals or it would also be beautiful in shades of aqua and seafoam, perfect for summer wear! As always, you make it uniquely yours with your choices. We are happy to help! Fee: $55. Call to register today to secure your seat!

NDEBELE (Herringbone) CHOKER: WEDNESDAY APRIL 13, 6:00 P.M., W/LINDA, FEE: $22.50, SKILL LEVEL: NOVICE (Some hand weaving experience recommended)

Every successful beader uses Herringbone Stitch in their designs. Isn't it time you added it to your repertoire? People panic when they see the word Ndebele. I say it's because few know how to pronounce it. Try this: Nde-be-le or (uhn-duh-bee-lee). But Ndebele is really just herringbone stitch! And it's really quite easy once you know how to get it going. I personally love the stitch! But then, I love texture and herringbone is all about texture, especially when you combine different sizes and shapes of beads. I think this lovely choker is a fantastic summer piece! And just imagine more organic looks done in matte seed beads and different embellishments! If I get time to play some more, I'll share what I come up with, 'cuz I'm hooked! Come give it a try and see if you, too, will fall in love with Ndebele!

CRYSTAL SCALLOP BRACELET: SATURDAY, APRIL 16, 10:30, W/LORI HOLT: FEE: $35: SKILL LEVEL: BEGINNER

Back by popular demand this dainty and delicate design, by Maine designer Lori Holt of Whispering Winds Designs, has become a favorite of many who have taken the class. It's a variation on right angle weave, done in crystals and pearls with seed bead embellishments. You can keep it monochromatic or mix up the colors for a truly unique piece. You'll find it works up quickly so you'll be able to make enough for a whole bridal party! (You'll want to keep at least one for yourself though). This piece appeals to the younger set as well as us young at heart gals. Come see it in person to really appreciate it's beauty.

CRYSTAL STAR EARRINGS: SATURDAY, APRIL 16, 1:00 P.M., W/LORI HOLT, FEE: $35, SKILL LEVEL: NOVICE (Some hand weaving experience recommended)

This class was so popular last quarter, we've had requests to run it again for those who couldn't make it. Sometimes we love a challenge. But, sometimes fast, fun and easy is what we like! These sweet little earrings work up quickly and are the perfect complement to any spring outfit!! Come enjoy an easy session around the beading table and create some beautiful bead work. Please do not wait to reserve your seat. This class will fill fast!! Oh, and you must come see them in person!!

CHEVRON CHANNELS BRACELET: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20, W/LINDA, FEE: $22.50, SKILL LEVEL: BEGINNER

If you are new to hand bead work, this is an easy beginner project. It's an age old technique that has a very contemporary and varied look. It's all in the choice of beads. Back by popular demand, this soft and comfortable bracelet was first seen in the August '06 Bead & Button Magazine designed by the artist Julz. A ladder stitch base is embellished with colorful chevrons. So easy and a Great summer bracelet, goes with everything! This class fills fast so don't wait to reserve your seat! You must see these in person. Stop in.

RIVOLI MEDALLION NECKLACE: SATURDAY, APRIL 23, 10:30, W/ CONNIE FOSTER, FEE: $25, SKILL LEVEL: BEGINNER

Spectacular is the only word to describe this necklace. Bringing it home again, Connie Foster will take you through the steps of this stunning medallion necklace. Super Duo beads make the work light and the results are fantastic!! Come see it in person.

DIAMONDS IN BRICK!: SATURDAY, APRIL 24, 1:00 P.M., W/CONNIE FOSTER, FEE: $25, SKILL LEVEL: NOVICE (Some experience with hand weaving recommended)

This striking bracelet has everyone oohing and aahing! At first glance it will fool you into thinking it's peyote stitch, but, it's really "brick stitch" in a diamond pattern. You will get practice working a pattern with this piece. Connie's affable way will get you through it with ease. Register early for this one!

BEAD CROCHETED ROPE: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27, 6-8 P.M., W/LINDA, FEE: $25, SKILL LEVEL: ?? (Knowledge of chain stitch and work with string crochet is recommended)

It's been a while since I've offered Bead Crocheted Rope. I have had so many of you ask about the technique that I've decided to offer the class again. This is a technique with stunning results. It never fails to catch the eye (and boggle the mind) of the beholder. This is a chain stitch crochet project where the beads sit on the outside of the tube you are creating and the string is hidden within. You do not have to be an expert at crochet, however a knowledge of chain stitch and working string crochet is helpful. Ask for a materials list. There will be some prep work required before class.

MAGATAMA FRINGE HERRINGBONE BRACELET: SATURDAY, APRIL 30, NOON, W/SUE DAIGLE, FEE: $25, SKILL LEVEL: NOVICE

Like texture? Then this is the bracelet for you! Herringbone in Super Duo beads make the work easy and Magatama bead edging makes it oh so interesting! Just love this summery BoHo look! I'll be wearing it all the time!

CELINI FOCAL NECKLACE: SATURDAY, MAY 7, 10:30, W/CONNIE FOSTER, FEE: $25, SKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE (Good knowledge of peyote stitch recommended)

Remember those fantastic magatama earrings from last summer? Well, here is the perfect companion piece! An incredible Cellini spiral focal fringed in magatama beads. Set on multi strands of seed beads it screams SUMMER! Just think of the color options!! Such FUN! Register early!!

DAGGER BRACELET: SATURDAY MAY 7, 1:00 P.M., W/CONNIE FOSTER, FEE: $25, SKILL LEVEL: Novice (Some hand weaving experience recommended)

I love dagger beads. They always put me in mind of Dragonflies, no matter how they are used. This lovely bracelet looks like a mini swarm of dragonflies or May flies to encircle your wrist. It's a fun piece to make and wear!

NETTED ROPE: WEDNESDAY, MAY 11, 6:00 P.M. W/LINDA, FEE: $22.50, SKILL LEVEL: BEGINNER

Now, if you're just beginning (or thinking about beginning) your journey into hand bead weaving, this is a wonderful starter piece. It really is EASY. Crystals or pearls are woven into a simple, basic, netted rope. It look very involved, but is really a cinch to create with little experience to no experience. Ever held a needle and thread? Then, you're good to go. Start with a bracelet and later you'll be turning out necklaces to match. Beautiful!

WIREWORKS: PRONGS: SATURDAY MAY 14, 10:30, W/MIG LEMIRE, FEE: $55, SKILL LEVEL: NOVICE (Pre-requisite, Wire Sculpting or Border Wrap or other wire experience)

We ran this class last quarter and there were a few who couldn't make it in. If you missed it last time, here's your chance! This is one of my favorite wire wrapping techniques. Works for even small faceted stones. For this project you will learn how to create a "pronged" setting for a faceted stone. This is a piece that always gets compliments and people are floored when you say "I made it myself". It's a piece that looks as though it came from a jewelers. The technique can be done with any size or shape of faceted stone but Mig suggests a rectangular stone for your first project. A selection of CZs and Swarovski stones ideal for this project are in stock and quite affordable. Learn this technique and people will think you got it at a jewelers!

WIREWORKS: LINKED HEARTS, SATURDAY, MAY 14, 10:30, W/ MIG LEMIRE, FEE: $55, SKILL LEVEL: NOVICE (Some experience with wire working recommended)

Hearts linked together in this lovely necklace just remind me of all the beautiful hearts that I am linked to in my life. Creating this lovely piece is a wonderful exercise in hand wrought links. Use groups of beads or drops for the dangles. Mig's expertise will help make it easy to fashion.

KUMODO (FLAT SPIRAL) BRACELET: WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 6:00 P.M., W/LINDA, FEE: $22.50M SKILL LEVEL: BEGINNER.

Here is a wonderful little stitch that looks completely different depending on the type and size of the beads you choose. Simple and elegant or dazzlingly different. Pearls, crystal, seed, delicas, whatever you decide to use, you can't miss with this technique. This class has been very popular when offered in the fall. Don't miss out. Register early.

LEATHER WRAP BRACELET: SATURDAY, MAY 21, NOON - 2:30, W/ SUE DAIGLE, FEE: $25, SKILL LEVEL: BEGINNER

Due to the incredible popularity of this fabulous bracelet, we're reprising the class, again!! This bracelet is all the rage in all its many forms! A super casual summer accessory this particular wrap is a triple row with 6mm beads on the inside and 4mm on the outer edges. The bracelet stays flat against the wrist with a button closure. If you have been admiring these bracelets, now you can make them for you and all your friends. Whether you choose natural stone crystal or something else, this bracelet is hot!!! A night to gather around the beading table and work on an existing project or start a new one. This is not a class. Just a time to get together with friends and enjoy our favorite pastime. Seating is limited so call to reserve your seat

You'll be amazed at how easy it is to create, and how many compliments you'll receive on your craftsmanship. RUSSIAN NET BRACELET: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15, 6-8 P.M., W/ MARIE JACQUES, FEE: $25, SKILL LEVEL: NOVICE (Some experience with hand weaving recommended)

This is one of the most beautiful (and popular) stitches around for a cuff and takes half the time to create than other netted bracelets I've tried. In this one the embellishment is added as you go rather than added after. And it's just stunning when completed! I love this one in a springy mix of colors, but yours will be uniquely you in the colors you choose!
