Happy Holidays Everyone!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone!

It's been another incredible year. So privileged to be able to provide a friendly shop with wonderful projects to keep our beading community excited and interested! If you've been away for a while and forgotten how relaxing and centering beading can be, peruse the new schedule and revisit all the wonderful things beading provides. We have classes in many techniques and mediums. I like to provide technique classes, to help you learn the basics of a stitch you haven't tried before (or offer a refresher if it's been a while). And some more advanced projects to advance your skill level.
Many of our old friends are back with exciting new projects and some old favorites, too. Mig as always has her Wire 101s to get your started (or refresh your fingers) in basic wire working. She'll also thrill us as usual with some lovely new item in wire and chainmaille. Sue Daigle will give another round of Japanese Braiding and for those who didn't get to play with Magatama beads last time, she's reprising that lovely "Dragon Scale " bracelet. Marie Jacques will be here to help new beaders learn the "Basics" and will also feature a couple of new surprises. We'd also like to welcome a New Instructor. Cherie Frith loves to take classes, but she is also very adept at teaching. She has a couple of pieces she's recently fallen in love and would like to share with you. And I'm sure they'll become favorites of yours, too. And I've got some new offerings and old favorites as well.
So, now that the shopping is done and the gifts are wrapped, take a few minutes for yourself. Grab a cuppa cocoa, a freshly baked Christmas cookie and peruse the pretty pictures.
REGISTER FOR ANY CLASSES BY JANUARY 7TH and RECEIVE 20% OFF CLASS MATERIALS!
The shop will be closed for Vacation from December 25-January 2, but I will be checking email and phone messages. So, you can put in your requests via one of those methods and I'll get you on the lists. Once I'm back in the shop, we can take care of the business end. Do remember to leave your phone number when requesting a seat in classes.
In the meantime, have a Most Wonderful Christmas and New Year spent with those you hold dear!

Merry Christmas to All,
Linda

We gave this class a break last quarter and people are clamoring for it again. Don't wait to register. Japanese Braiding or "Kumihimo" is an ancient art form that dates back to around 8000 BC, yet fits into our contemporary society quite well. Meaning a "Gathering of Threads", Kumihimo braids were used as personal adornment such as obi-jime ties, ropes to bind ancient scrolls, and were presented by emperors to heroes and others who earned high honors. Today they lend themselves well to belts, trims, handbag straps and, of course, jewelry. Ask for a materials list as a small amount of prep work is necessary prior to the class.

But, depending on choice of beads, it can be any "galaxy" you choose. Come create your own "art piece" with Mig and friends.

CLASSIC PEARL KNOTTING: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15, 6 PM, W/LINDA, FEE: $22.50, SKILL LEVEL: BEGINNER

The ability to knot neatly between beads is a great tool to have in your beading repertoire. Pearls are usually knotted on silk cord. As with any natural fiber, it only last so long. If fact, it is recommended that you have your natural pearl jewelry re-strung and knotted every few years. Traditional pearl knotting can be quite expensive with re-strings costing as much as $2.00-3.00 per bead and in some cases, more. Knotting can also be used for other beaded necklaces and bracelets, too. Have fun with colored cords and beads making fun and funky looks to match your materials and moods. Come for a relaxing evening with silk cords and beads. Call today!
