Happy Holidays Everyone!

This year has gone by in a blink. It seems that I just did the last holiday schedule and it's holiday time again. There are many wonderful things to look forward to this holiday season. Well, the election will be over for one. Turning on the TV or internet without being bombarded with smear campaigns will be a gift in itself. But on the brighter side, there is the time spent with loved ones at this precious time of year that is such a blessing. And, of course, the crafting in preparation. There are a lot of lovely items you can find right here to create for gifting and "frosting" yourself with the glow and glitter of the season. There are holiday and New Year's worthy jewelry, techniques to entrance you on a cold winter's night and lovely ornaments to add to your holiday glow.

We lost a friend this year in Lori Holt, but she'll be with us in spirit through a design or two that will get a reprisal this season.

A new addition to the schedule are daytime classes. I've booked some Thursday afternoon classes for those who have freer time during the day and dislike being out after dark. I've reprised some hand weaving classes (that seems to be the most asked for) to give folks a chance at them who were unable to at night. Do let me know of others you'd like to see during the day and I'll see what I can do. Always talk to me if there is a class you are unable to take and I'll do my best to rebook it at a different day or time.

So, peruse the list and check it twice and let me know as soon as you can what you'd like to reserve. Also, as an extra Holiday Bonus, you will receive 20% Off Materials on classes you register for by November 12th, with half the class fee down.

See you soon and,
Happy Beading!
Linda

BEAD EMBROIDERY: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5th, 10:30 A.M.-3 P.M., W/JOHANNA BIERWIRTH: FEE: $45

Bead Embroidery is an age old technique. Adding bead work to clothing and accessories is a technique that has been used for centuries on everything from haute couture to our own Native American beadwork. It's a fascinating practice that is relaxing as well a creatively satisfying. Our resident expert, Johanna, will walk you through the process in this day long class. You will learn several bead embroidery stitches to embellish a barrette, brooch, appliqué patch or whatever you decide to use your piece for. Shown here is an Initial, but there are several pattern shapes you can choose from such as ovals, hearts, stars, or come up with your own. Stop in to register and see first-hand what possibilities await you! Learn how now, and you'll have a fabulous new pastime to get you through the long winter evenings.

You've got to see these in person! The photo doesn't do them justice (as with most photos). Such an elegant choker to enhance your holiday finery. The crystal/silver has gotten a lot of attention in the display case for quite a while. I was finally able to sit down and create another in bronze tones for an different, but equally elegant look. Have you heard the legend of the Christmas Spider? The short version is that many years ago, Father Christmas came into a poor man's home and found that the spiders had left webs all over the otherwise bare Christmas Tree. So, he used his Christmas magic and turned the gossamer webs to strands of silver. In the morning when the family awoke and opened the shutters and the morning light transformed the poor little tree into a dazzling spectacle. This is how "tinsel" came into being. Well, now that you know the story, shouldn't your tree have it's own pretty little Christmas Spider? They are easy to make and I'll give you a printed legend to reproduce for gift giving! xmas spiders 2.jpg
